Newness of Life #yearintheword

We were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.—Romans 6:4

A divine exchange took place when you received Jesus as your Lord. The same glory that raised Jesus from the dead made you alive spiritually. The glory of the Father is the Spirit of God operating within you empowering you to live a resurrected life.

What is a sign that you have been resurrected? Your old ways are dead and gone, buried forever! Don’t go digging up the past, let it stay buried. God has wonderful things for your future. He wants to manifest His glory in your life. It’s important that we set boundaries and stop the old man, the old flesh nature from dominating us.

“Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”—Romans 6:12,14. Another evidence of our resurrection is that sin’s power is broken over our lives. We have access to His grace, that’s power beyond our ability, the ability to say yes to the Spirit and no to the flesh!
