For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.—Romans 5:17
We’ve heard it said, “One thing is sure, death and taxes.” We know that death reigns over the whole human race because of the sin of the first man, Adam in the Garden of Eden. Jesus’ radical obedience to the Father’s plan to become payment for our sin by death on the cross broke the power of death over all who make Him Lord and Savior.
Thank God for life after the grave but there is more! God wants you to reign in life like a king! The Amplified version says, “For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive God’s overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness putting them into right standing with Himself reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).”
Reigning as a King means walking in dominion over sin, sickness, disease, poverty, lack and all the things we see in our world that robs people of a life of peace and promise. Begin to make decrees in your life by speaking God’s Word over yourself, your marriage, your children, your future. Your a King and you have the rule and the say how it is going to be in your life. God’s abundant grace will make it so!
