As servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God, it is required in stewards that one be found faithful… the Lord when He comes will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God.–1 Corinthians 4:1,2,5
The Apostle Paul is defending His ministry in this Chapter. There is a truth here that applies to every believer. We are stewards of Gospel secrets! What secrets? The mysteries or secrets the Apostle Paul is referring to is what God has done for us through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. All of Paul’s epistles to the churches contain truths about your identity in Christ.
We are to be good stewards of these truths. As a good steward of these secrets we meditate and act upon these truths every day. Sonship, righteousness, the indwelling presence of the Spirit, God’s calling and all that we find in the New Testament are to be cultivated in our personal lives so that they become a reality in our lives. That’s when the Christ in you is actually manifesting in every area of your life.
Remember the day is coming when we will stand before Jesus and give account of our stewardship. Be faithful with His Word in your life and You will receive praise from the Lord on that day! I want to be found faithful in what He has placed in my life–the secrets of who I am in Christ Jesus, don’t you?
