The Believer’s Prayer

The Apostle Paul who essentially wrote the New Testament prayed for the churches to come into the fulness of what Christ had done for them.  These prayers are for us and they are similar to what Jesus prayed for all who would beleive on Him.  Jesus prayed in John 17:21-23 NLT, “I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one-as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.  I have given them the glory (the Holy Spirit) you gave me, so they may be one as we are one.  I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.”

The prayers Paul prayed expresses to us what the Holy Spirit wants to do in our lives as believers. He wants to bring us to a place of intimacy with God and unity with one another.  If you want to experience total freedom and victory in your life I challenge you to pray these prayers out loud over yourself every day and discover the freedom and victory the Spirit will bring into your life.  Take it a step further and pray in the Spirit (that is in other tongues) and you will tap into God’s grace, intimacy with God, unity with other believers, freedom and victory over the sin and struggles you face!

Father, in the name of Jesus, fill me with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding…

…so that my life may honor and praise you…

…so that I may please you in every area of my life…

…so that I may be fruitful in every good work…

…so that I may increase in the knowledge of you.  —Ephesians 1:17-19

Father, in the name of Jesus, strengthen me with your might according to your glorious presence and power…

…so that I would be patient in every situation…

…so that I would be longsuffering with every individual…

…so that I would be filled with your joy. —Colossians 1:9-12

Father, in the name of Jesus, give me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus Christ…

…Open my eyes that I may know and experience the hope to which you have called me that I would experience Christ in me the hope of glory…

…Open my eyes that I may know and experience the richness of your inheritance, that I would see clearly my rights and privileges secured by Jesus blood…

…Open my eyes that I may know and experience your divine presence and power in me. —Ephesians 1:17-20

Father, in the name of Jesus, strengthen me in my inner man with the Holy Spirit’s power and ability…

…so that Christ—the anointed One and His Anointing—would live through me…

…so that I can know and demonstrate the compassion of Jesus…

…so that I can be filled with everything you have, all your fullness! —Ephesians 3:16-19

Father, in the name of Jesus, increase my love and passion so that I may grow in the knowledge of you and discern what is truly your highest and best…

…so I can make wise choices and right decisions…

…so that I may live pure and holy until Christ’s return…

…so that I may be filled with the fruits of righteousness. —Philippians 1:9-11

Amen and Amen!
