But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.—Matthew 6:33-34
The best decision you can make for the new year is to put God first in your life. One of the benefits in having your priorities line up with God’s purpose is His supernatural peace. Care, worry, and anxiety about your future can be a thing of the past when you get a revelation of his love and you put His Kingdom first. So, how do we put the Kingdom of God first? First, make God’s Word, the Bible your final authority in life, let the Bible be your compass and road map in life. Second, a daily devotion life where you give the Spirit of God ample opportunity to speak to you. That is what taking up the cross is all about—loyalty and devotion to Christ.
Jesus spoke of the dynamics of His Kingdom through parables. All the parables found in the Gospels deal with how a person responds to the Gospel. They give us a foundational understanding of how to operate in His Kingdom. I will be taking time to blog on the parables of Jesus during the month of January. I also invite you to join with me in prayer and fasting from January 6-26th. I start the year off with a Daniel Fast for 21 days, it is a great way to put God first! Here is a great resource to help you get started on a Daniel fast from Jentezen Franklin.
