I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God. They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: ” Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints!—Revelation 15:2-3 NKJV
The 7 bowl judgments are about to be poured out, but before they are we see a victory song sung by believers who have come out of the tribulation. They are praising God because they have overcome the beast who persecuted them. What is the song of Moses? It is a song of victory Moses wrote to celebrate Israel’s deliverance from the Pharaoh of Egypt found in Exodus 15. These believers found their victory over the beast through Christ!
The sea of glass mingled with fire is a symbol of harvest and persecution. Many of these believers will have experienced martyrdom as a result of their faith. Persecution has been a reality for many in our day. We as American Christians are really not aware of the persecution that our brothers and sisters in Christ experience today. There is a very personal side to persecution, it really turns your life upside down. Take a moment and read some personal stories of those who suffer persecution today. Pray for the persecuted church. Let their stories inspire you to live for Christ and share the gospel story to those within your reach.
