Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.—1 Peter 5:5-6 NKJV
Grace—God’s power beyond our ability, His strength for our weakness, and access to His provision—is available to all who humble themselves under God’s mighty hand. The hand of God speaks of His presence and power. Recognize and be cognizant of His presence in your life and yield to that power and you will be lifted up above your adversary the devil and every thing He throws at you!
Humility is an attitude of the heart that is attractive to God. It is having a proper estimation of yourself. It is accepting what God says about you in the New Testament. It is being secure in your spiritual identity as a son of God. When you accept the fact that your righteousness was given to you by Jesus and you did nothing to earn it then you will be in a position to receive God’s grace for every situation you face.
Every day you can humble yourself, by praying, “Father, I acknowledge my dependance upon the Holy Spirit whom you sent to be my helper and comforter. Holy Spirit I give you permission to work in my life. Have your way, in Jesus name.” That is a great way to start your day!
