Equipped and empowered #yearintheword

Now may the God of peace who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood, may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.—Hebrews 13:20-21 NLT

The God of peace has reconciled us to Himself through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus. Thank God for the great Shepherd who laid his life down for us and brought us into covenant relationship with the Father. We are reconciled because of His blood, we have peace with God because of His blood! We also have the Spirit of God working in us to accomplish God’s purpose for us.

Two things mentioned here the Spirit of God wants to do in your life. First, He wants to equip you with everything you need to do the will of God. So we should look to and rely on the Spirit of God for the wisdom, favor, and all the resources necessary to carry out the plan of God for our lives—for our marriages, families, careers, and ministry.

Second the Spirit wants to produce something in you—the power of Jesus Christ. The same authority and anointing Jesus walked in has been delegated to the church. You have authority in his Name and a measure of that anointing that brought healing to sick and miracles to impossibilities. If you will practice yielding to the Spirit you can cultivate a strong anointing in your life that will empower you to overcome temptations, tests and trials and be a blessing to someone else. So recognize today that you are equipped and empowered by God Himself.
