An anxious culture! #yearintheword

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.—Philippians 4:6-7

We live in a culture plagued by anxiety with over $42 billion in annual costs to society according to Dr. Kevin Chapman. He sights two reasons: “keeping up with the Jones'” and the pressure to achieve. God never designed us to carry those weights in our lives. We have a Father who cares for us and wants us to come to Him for all of our needs. There is a tangible peace that ministers to us mentally and physically when we pray and give thanks to God. Anxiety and stress are symptoms that our trust has been misplaced and we are not drawing close to The Lord in prayer.

After we pray and give thanks for our needs, we need to keep our mind filled with God’s promises and positive expectations of what God can do in a situation.

Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.

Obviously, scripture is all of the above and will keep you in a place of peace, a stress free zone! One of the biggest stressors I help married couples quite frequently is in the area of money. When it comes to anxiety over money like Ps. Jonathan always says, “it’s a faith issue not a money issue!” certainly we need to be wise stewards of what we have. My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Trust God for your provision and promotion! Pray the Word over your need. Fill yor mind with promises and make a good faith confession! And His peace will be like a protective fence over your mind and emotions! You can be anxious and stress free!
