Unbroken Focus #yearintheword

I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus… For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.—Philippians 3:13-14,20-21

To achieve and win victory in any sport requires unbroken focus. I remember running track in Junior High and all the preparation for the big event. Mentally it was all about crossing that finish line even when coming around the last bend and your legs are on fire, unbroken focus pushed me beyond my physical limitations. Spiritually there is a prize to win in our lives. It is the call to become just like Jesus in emulating both his character and supernatural power in our lives.

God’s calling upon your life will require you to push beyond the limitations of your flesh and natural reasoning. What God calls you to do is always bigger than yourself. It requires an unbroken focus. Who is our focus but Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Keeping that desire to please Him at all cost is what will enable you to walk in His anointing and authority everyday. It will establish you as a firm witness of His goodness and His love.

When you finish your race and cross that finish line, Jesus will be there to reward you for your unbroken focus. Your new body will be a resurrected flesh and bone body and it will radiate with God’s glory. I like to put it this way, when we come into His kingdom some will be like 100 watt floodlights and others will be like a dim candlelight. It all depends on what you did with your new life in Christ. Unbroken focus will keep you in the race so that you cross the finish line and receive your reward from the one who died for you!
