He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ right up to the time of His return, developing that good work and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.—Philippians 1:6 AMP
On the day of your new birth, God started a good work in you! We are on a journey. If you were to create a timeline from the day you opened your heart to Christ through every season that is to come in your life you should note that God is present in your life working to perfect that which concerns you! He has a grand design for you! He wants to do a complete make over on your house so to speak!
You will find a number of prayers the Apostle Paul prayed for the churches He established. They reveal the intent of e Holy Spirit in the lives of believers. Here in light of this promise Paul prays…
I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation-the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ-for this will bring much glory and praise to God.–Philippians 1:9-11 NLT
God wants His love in us to increase and dominate our lives. He wants our knowledge and understanding of Jesus to increase and change the way we believe, think, and act. This is what will produce fruitfulness and character so we can enjoy success in all of our relationships and all of our endeavors! In addition, Jesus is going to reward those who have allowed His grace to do a complete work in them. Simply yield to His work and pray that His love in you will increase in you. As you read your New Testament pray that your knowledge and understanding of Him will increase. There is certainly more God wants to do in you. Be open to change, be willing to go deeper and let God have His way with you. Remember you are not perfect, just a good work in progress!
