But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.—Ephesians 4:20-24 NKJV
We have a choice every day to put on the NEW MAN which was created when we were born again. Look at Jesus pattern for life and ministry and you will see that He embraced the cross of devotion to the Father. He was passionate toward the Father and compassionate toward the world. We as his children should do the same. He has given us the ability to walk just as Jesus did. You have the NEW MAN that is the spirit man the real you. Your spirit was recreated and joined together as one with the Holy Spirit. God made you righteous and holiness resides in you, the Spirit of God resides in you!
I think being more God conscious of the greater one within us is a first step to putting on the new man. We need to be mindful of who lives in us. God consciousness and not sin consciousness is what leads us to walking in a place of dominion. We become more aware of the mandate that is upon us to obey God and touch lives with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Think differently about yourself! You are “wall to wall” God on the inside. He is resident within you and He empowers you to live out your call.
We all have a past, old baggage, weaknesses in our flesh that Satan tries to take advantage of. However, God has done something new on the inside of us that has put us over. Think according to what God has done in you! Don’t let your adversary bring up your past, your old life with the old man’s desires. Thank God that has been completely removed by the blood of Jesus. There is not even evidence of a stain. Declare over yourself, “I am a NEW MAN with new desires, new abilities, new potential and a new future!”
