I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.—Galatians 1:6-8
The true gospel is a gospel of grace. If you want to know the spirit of the Gospel just look at the compassion displayed through the life and ministry of Jesus. After demonstrating God’s ability and willingness to set people free from sickness, disease and demonic oppression, He laid His life down for crucifixion that our provision might be complete. Jesus work is a complete work and all we have to do is accept it. He made us righteous! He made us Sons! He gave us power and authority! He did it not us!
The good news is a message of grace! It is a message of what God has done for us through His son. He performs, we accept by faith and receive grace. Religions have a different spirit. They are all performance and merit based. We don’t have to perform a set of rules to be accepted by God the Father, we simply believe in the work Jesus does for us. That in turn releases the Spirit of God to perform what God wants to accomplish in us!
Catch the Spirit of the Gospel by reading the Gospels over and over. Read the epistles of Paul and catch the revelation God entrusted Him. The scriptures clearly reveal the spirit of the Gospel, you won’t find it anywhere else. So attention must be given to the divine record of how God has made provision for us though the life and ministry of Jesus as it is written in the New Testament.
