Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. (John 15:4-8 NKJV)
The secret to answered prayer is found in this simple parable. When spring arrives and the trees blossom it is an indication that the sap of the tree is flowing bringing life to the branches again. When your prayers are making a difference its a good indication that the Spirit of God is moving in your life. I hear so many Christians say there is a move of God coming as if it is in the distant future with some sort of spectacular signs to look for. You don’t have to wait for a move of God. You can initiate a move of the Spirit in your own life, your family, and your church through prayer.
Jesus gives us the secret, absolute dependance upon God. The most profound revelation you could receive about your life in Christ is without Him you can accomplish nothing for the Kingdom of God. That is the staring point. The key to bearing fruit is abiding. To abide simply means to stay in a given place and remain. There is two sides of the coin. First, abide in Him, that is maintain unbroken fellowship with Him by loving God and others. Second, let the Word of God abide in you. Your soul is to be a repository of scripture. The Word engrafted within you changes you from the inside out and builds mountain moving faith, a supernatural confidence that God hears you and answers when you pray.
Remember, daily fellowship with God and feeding on His word will gaurantee you a connection to heaven’s resources! His presence, power and provison can be a daily reality for you! Not only for you but also for the lives you touch for Jesus! Disciples demonstrate the reality of God’s presence, power and provision because they are vitally connected to Jesus and they become infectious with love, peace, and joy. This is how God gets glory in your life! Are you cultivating prayer fruit?
