Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-21 NKJV)
Everytime believers come together we need to cooperate with the Holy Spirit. We can create an environment for the Holy Spirit to manifest Himself in our midst. The manifestations of the Holy spirit are listed in 1 Corinthians 12. When He shows up people are blessed and refreshed.
So how do we cooperate with the Holy Spirit? First of all Be prayerful and be thankful. Don’t quench the Spirit. That means don’t extinguish the fire in your heart that draws you to God, His Word, His presence. When the Spirit of God speaks in public assembly listen attentively and draw on His presence because it will renew your strength. Finally when the Spirit of God does speak in public assembly remember to always measure it against the Word. It should edify and build you up and confirm what the Scripture says!
