And they (Israel) will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity.—Luke 21:24-25
I woke up with Spirit of God moving upon me at 12:40 this morning hearing Him say, “I am coming soon!” I stood up and gazed out my bedroom window at the stars thinking about the article I read on the NASA website recently about the comet ISON which is to appear in the sky during the Jewish feast of Hanukkah. (Hanukkah falls on Thanksgiving day this year.) Suddenly a shooting star flashed across the sky, I thought, “Wow, Lord did you do that just for me?” So I felt compelled to write this blog at 12:45 a.m.
We are living in a time where this verse is in the process of being fulfilled. The time of the Gentiles is coming to a close. We know this because Israel is being restored to their land and their is great contention over Jerusalem and what is called the West Bank (biblically known as Judaea and Samatia, or the mountains of Israel.) Jesus said there would also be signs in the heavens during this time of transition. Be on the lookout this Thanksgiving for the comet named ISON which may be seen in the sky. It could turn out to be the “comet of the century.” It’s not a coincidence that it falls on Hanukkah, a feast that celebrates God’s deliverance of the Jews. To see it’s predicted orbit click here. With a coalition of nations forming against Israel this could be a sign that something big is about to happen for Israel. The Scriptures teach us that God is going to pour out His Spirit on the nation of Israel in the last days. He is going to raise that tiny nation up to be the light bearer to the Gentile Nations when Jesus returns and sets up His kingdom. How exciting it is for us believers who live in these last days to witness such extraordinary events. There are more signs in the heavens falling on Israel’s feast days in 2014 and 2015 as well. We should be paying attention to the signs so they motivate us to fulfill the call of God on our lives,
