Your Balcony Seat

Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying: ” You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.”—Revelation 5:8-10 NKJV

Revelation chapter 4 & 5 is a picture of people from every generation and every nation worshipping and praising God for the saving work of The Lord Jesus Christ. Remember the book of Revelation is a book of symbols which must be properly interpreted. Who is the Lamb before the throne? It’s Jesus! Who are the four creatures? Angels! Who are the 24 elders? The redeemed of all ages, both Old and New Testament Saints, for they are singing about the blood that brought them salvation!

Now, what is the scroll the lamb took from the one who sat on the throne (the Father God)? It is the judgments that are about to be released on the earth.

No one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”—Revelation 5:3,5 NKJV

Jesus is the only one worthy to release the judgments. When Jesus came the first time He came in the form of a servant and died on the cross to bring salvation. When Jesus comes the second time He will come to judge the Nations of the world. Notice that the church is in heaven having already received their rewards for overcoming the world through their faith in Jesus. When Jesus opens the scroll the judgments will begin. As you read the subsequent chapters you will find seven seal judgments, seven trumpet judgments, and seven bowl judgments that will usher in the second coming of Christ to the earth with His Saints. The oldest prophecy speaks of this time given from a man who lived before the flood of Noah.

Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.—Jude 1:14-15 NKJV

The church has been given a balcony seat! We are seated with Christ in heavenly places! And that will be the case when the judgments will unfold on the earth during the tribulation hour that Jesus spoke of. I am glad that I have put my trust in The Lord Jesus and received my reservation for my seat in the balcony of heaven, the throne room of God!
