This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.–1 John 1:7-9
Jesus is the light of the world and as He is so are we in this world. If God is in you then the light has been turned on. Think of what that means. If the light has been turned on then you can see what is ahead of you. Have you ever stubbed your toe wandering through your home at night because it was dark. We can avoid “stubbing our toe” and making painful mistakes by keeping the light on so we can see whats ahead.
When we practice truth, when we act upon the Word, when we walk in fellowship with Jesus we are taking steps in the light. When you are in the light the devil can’t touch you. He operates under the cloak of deception and darkness but you have full advantage over his devices and schemes because the light of God is in you.
You know you can live with the lights on 24/7. The key is keeping your life under the blood of Jesus. Don’t allow un-forgiveness and offenses to keep you in the dark. You will only “stub your toe” by thinking wrong thoughts and making poor choices. Walk in the light today and be a witness of God’s love to someone in need!
