Faith & patience #yearintheword

For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.—Hebrews 6:10-12

Faith and patience inherits promises. We have been give great and precious promises so that we can partake of God’s life and divine nature. Righteousness, peace, and joy given to us by the Spirit is foreign to the world because they have no covenant with God. Thank God for Jesus who brought us into a covenant relationship with the Father. The moment you were born again all the promises of God became yours!

So we must build our faith in God’s word by hearing it repeatedly until there rises up a divine faith within ready to receive the promise. Living in such a busy, material driven culture, we have to be very intentional about taking the time to cultivate “mountain moving faith.” Everything we receive from the Father is a result of believing with the heart and confessing with the mouth a promise. Faith must be developed in the heart and that takes time and devotion to the Scriptures.

Patience is something most people don’t like to hear but is required as well to receive God’s promises. Patience means to be steady under pressure. One of the qualities of a patient person is they are mindful of God’s promise and they are thankful that God is faithful and He will come through if we don’t become spiritually sluggish. So keep the Word in your heart and mouth and be sure to give The Lord praise because he is faithful and He will come through for you!
