Evidence #yearintheword

For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake. And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit.—1 Thessalonians 1:5-6

There are key signs when the Holy Spirit is moving in a person’s life. Four evidences are listed in these verses. They are power, conviction, repentance (change) and supernatural joy. The Holy Spirit will manifest in power when the Gospel is believed upon. He has been sent to confirm that Jesus is Lord with signs following!

He will also convict the hearts of those who hear. When conviction comes to a believing heart repentance begins. Repentance simply means a change of direction, a change of mind or a change of attitude. This is what the Gospel message did to the Thessalonians. They wholeheartedly followed the Apostle Paul because there was something tangible and supernatural about His message!

God always confirms His truth to our hearts. He gives us a supernatural peace as well as joy that is independent of our circumstances. That joy is indicative of something fresh happening on the inside! Remember when you first believed? What about today, is there still evidence that the Holy Spirit is doing something fresh in your life? I can say there is evidence in my life that the Holy Spirit is doing something fresh. I am walking in His joy, I hope you are too!
