How do you handle pressure? #yearintheword

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.—1 Corinthians 10:13

No one is immune from temptation. That will not be a reality until we receive our new glorified bodies at the rapture of the church then we will be immune to temptation. Until then temptation is a daily occurrence. When the pressure comes to cater to the flesh how do you handle it? The children of Israel in the wilderness obviously did not handle it very well. (Read the details)

Two secrets that have worked for me when dealing with temptation. The first one is a no brainer, keep your relationship with Jesus fresh. Maintain your daily fellowship with the Lord by spending time in the scriptures and praying in the Holy Spirit every day. This is the thing I find that gets believers into more trouble, simply neglecting this important daily discipline. The second secret is don’t make life difficult for yourself. The Apostle Paul set boundaries for himself stating, “All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify.” Make sure you set boundaries in your life both internally and externally. Make yourself accountable to God and a good Christian friend. Everyone needs a best friend or “bosom buddie” so to speak.

Remember that every temptation can be overcome through the power of the spoken word. You are anointed by the Spirit to win your own personal battles. Jesus demonstrated how to win in the temptation experience. Pray in the Spirit and speak the Word! That’s what Jesus (Luke) did as a man and that’s what we can do as believers! He has empowered us to win!
