For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.–Romans 15:4,13
The scriptures, that is our Bible can be a great source of comfort and patience no matter what season of life you find yourself in. Are you in a time of transition, not sure of the future, facing unknowns, difficult decisions to make? Find yourself a quite place to sit down and open the Good Book. It never fails I am always met with God’s reassuring presence when I go to the scriptures.
The scriptures have been inspired by the Holy Spirit who lives within you. If you will listen with your heart you’ll find the Holy Spirit will speak to you through the Word. After all He is the author and He knows just what you need to hear. He will bear witness with your heart! When He does you will find a peace and joy in trusting Him with your life.
If you want to abound in hope that is live with a supernatural expectation that God can do anything in and through your life then immerse yourself in the scriptures every day and you will find the Holy Spirit is always ready to speak to your heart. I always approach the scriptures prayerfully recognizing that the Holy Spirit inspired men to write so I could live it and enjoy the fruit of it–peace, joy and supernatural expectation.
