But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, Peace and safety! then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. (1 Thessalonians 5:1-4 NKJV)
The return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth will catch the world by surprise. But for the church, we should be in the know! The times and seasons that God has ordained for humanity has been disclosed to us some 3500 years ago. They are found in the Lord’s feasts. Leviticus 23 outlines the Lord’s calendar of redemption for all mankind.
The Spring feasts foreshadowed the Lord’s first coming, the summer feast of Pentecost foreshadowed the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the great Gospel harvest that we are a part of today. The fall feasts are about to be fulfilled in our day, the second coming of the Lord Jesus to set up His Kingdom and rule the nations.
We should understand the times and seasons of God for our lives. Have you syncronized your calender with God’s calendar? Are you doing what the Lord has asked you to do for Him? Don’t be caught up with the world and its pursuits but be passionate about fulfilling God’s plan and purpose for your life. Fulfill His plan and finish strong!
