When I read the Psalms, I am always reminded of the goodness of God and what He wants to do in my life. One thing He wants to do is revive us! He wants to restore our spiritual passion and give us a fresh start! But, He is waiting on us to reach out to Him in prayer.
Revive us again, O God! I know you will! Give us a fresh start! Then all your people will taste your joy and gladness. Pour out even more of your love on us! Reveal more of your kindness and restore us back to you! Now I’ll listen carefully for your voice and wait to hear whatever you say. Let me hear your promise of peace- the message every one of your godly lovers longs to hear. Don’t let us in our ignorance turn back from following you.—Psalm 85:6-8 TPT
God gave us instructions on how to revive our relationship with Him. Through fasting and prayer we can experience a refreshing. Think of a well watered flower garden, it is lush and green, blooming with color!
And the Lord shall guide you continually and satisfy you in drought and in dry places and make strong your bones. And you shall be like a watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters fail not.—Isaiah 58:11 AMPC
The Holy Spirit will move in our lives in a fresh new way if we invite Him! The Psalmist describes an encounter with God using the analogy of God’s creation. A visitation of glory speaks of an encounter with the presence and power of God.
Your visitations of glory bless the earth; the rivers of God overflow and enrich it. You paint the wheat fields golden as you provide rich harvests. Every field is watered with the abundance of rain- showers soaking the earth and softening its clods, causing seeds to sprout throughout the land. You crown the earth with its yearly harvest, the fruits of your goodness. Wherever you go the tracks of your chariot wheels drip with oil.—Psalm 65:9-11 TPT
I want the blessing, the rivers of God flowing! I want to be that well watered garden! I want bountiful harvests in every area of my life! I want my life to be a witness and display of His goodness! I want my life dripping with oil—a fresh touch of His anointing!!
