Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.—Acts 2:3-4 NKJV
God has blessed us with a supernatural ability to pray and experience a move of His Spirit in our personal lives through the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Yet I find many believers are not taking advantage of this incredible supernatural resource. I myself find that I have to strive against my own flesh to maintain a level of unceasing prayer. Some weeks are better than others but when I’m continually praying in the spirit I find that I am on top of my game and both life and ministry becomes easy.
We can tap into His power at any time and in any situation by praying in other tongues. The Apostle Paul referred to speaking in tongues as ‘praying in the spirit.’ It’s always been a controversial subject because it is the source of tapping into the power of God.
Jesus said you shall receive power! That power was released when the disciples began to speak. They tapped into God’s power and saw a move of God before their eyes. It is amazing to see the radical transformation of Peter who had just recently denied The Lord three times now preaching with boldness, supernatural power and miracles!
Praying in the spirit is an absolute essential to walking in the fullness of God’s power for your life. I think today it is the most untapped resource for many believers. Many problems believers face can be resolved if they took advantage of this wonderful gift—speaking in tongues or praying in the spirit! Commit to pray in the Spirit and watch life giving rivers from the Spirit of God begin to flow out of your innermost being! Just keep the faucet turned on!
