A Bittersweet Victory

In the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets. Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, “Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth.” So I went to the angel and said to him, “Give me the little book.” And he said to me, “Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth.”—Revelation 10:7-9 NKJV

The sound of the Seventh trumpet seals the fate of the world. The mystery of God as declared to the prophets would be fulfilled, that mystery is the Gospel—the revelation of Jesus Christ to the world. Christ will come in triumph to set up His kingdom and establish His rule ushering in the Kingdom Age of peace and prosperity for 1000 years. It is a bittersweet victory. Bitter because of such great suffering and loss of human life, yet sweet because of the great harvest and the fulfillment of the Lord’s promise to His people.

John is instructed to prophesy again to the nations. The call to preach the everlasting Gospel has been given to every generation since the ascension of Jesus to the Father’s right hand. The spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus! God has commissioned us to prophesy, that is to say, testify of the love of God through His Son Jesus to our generation. Let’s be faithful to the call. People need The Lord! Don’t ever give up on praying for your loved ones, your friends and acquaintances to come to Christ. His love constrains us to pray and reach out to those who have yet to experience the abundant life of righteousness, peace, and joy that can only be found in Jesus!
