Tell the Story #yearintheword

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.—1 Timothy 1:15

The Apostle Paul encourages his spiritual son Timothy to hold fast to the doctrine of Christ. Good instruction always produces the God kind of love and faith that distinguishes us as believers in Jesus. The foundation of our faith is who Jesus is and what He has accomplished for us. Our relationship began with a discovery of The Lord’s forgiveness and it continues with an understanding of who we are in Christ–we are the sons of God! That is a claim we don’t make for ourselves but that Christ has made for us!

Christ came into the world to give us abundant life–the very presence and power of God–righteousness, peace and joy that comes from the inside out. Paul deems it a faithful saying or we could put it this way, a story that needs to be told. Consider this, the entire Bible is about the coming of Christ, both His first and second coming. The law given by Moses are filled with types and shadows of Christ’s life and ministry. The prophets all pointed to the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. The Gospels present in full view God’s only Son, the sent one, the anointed one who went about doing good–forgiving, healing, and saving people.

I will never forget my day of discovery when Jesus first touched my life and cleansed me from all my sin and opened a path for me to live out my life with purpose. We all have a story to tell that is “worthy of all acceptance.” Your story is worthy of an audience. You confirm the greatest love story ever told. Someone needs to hear from you! Be ready to tell the story of God’s saving power in your life! Today could be someones day of discovery.
