When you first believed and accepted Christ as your Savior, God’s power changed you from the inside out. We call it the new birth, it is described by the Apostle Paul as regeneration. God’s power sets you free from the darkness that held your spiritual man, the real you. As a result you discovered new desires and longings to follow Jesus, desire His Word and fellowship with others who have had the same experience.
If it took the power of God to save you then it’s going to take the power of God to help you overcome your own flesh, the world around you, and Satan’s well schemed devices he has for you. Jesus new this, that is why He told His disciples to wait for the promise of the Father before doing anything else. We know on the day of Pentecost the churched was clothed with power and what an impact the disciples made in their world.
Faith in God’s power us absolutely essential if we are going to win in life and be influencers to our generation. We don’t need programs and philosophies, we need the power of God! Put your faith in what God has promised you in the New Testament letters and you will be empowered by the Spirit of God to live victoriously!
