We have a guarantee to the promises of God! The ressurection of Jesus gives us an assurance that He will fulfill every promise! In addition to that, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to dwell within us as a personal witness to confirm the promises that He made to us!
What did God promise? He promised health for our bodies and prosperity for our souls. This has been established in the Old Covenant. Today we live under a new and better covenant because we have been given the new birth. Believers under the Old Testament did not have that because Christ had not yet paid the price for our redemption on the cross. We have the new birth which meets the the most important need in our life, that is our Spirit. The truth of the new birth and its reality in our life is fully explained in Paul’s letters. That’s why it is so important that we take a deep dive into Paul’s letters and find out who we are in Christ.
So consider the guarantee God has made to you personally, as you stand on His Word and trust Him for victory and success in every arena of life! Our Lord says “YES” and we say “AMEN” to the promises of God! How does He do that? By identifying us as His own and giving us His Spirit as a personal guarantee!
For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory. It is God who ENABLES us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has COMMISSIONED us, and he has IDENTIFIED us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that GUARANTEES everything he has promised us. —2 Corinthians 1:20-22 NLT
Notice again, that the Spirit of God in us is the guarantee to everything Christ did for us on the cross!
The Spirit is God’s GUARANTEE that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him. —Ephesians 1:14 NLT
We have been sealed with the Holy Spirit. That means we belong to Jesus and he has taken ownership of our lives. He has given us His Spirit as the guarantee of our redemption. Redemption is another word for salvation, the salvation of our spirits, souls, and bodies.
In Him you also, after hearing the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and after believing in Him, were SEALED with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the GUARANTEE of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. —Ephesians 1:13-14 MEV
We have been anointed and sealed by the Holy Spirit meaning He has taken up residence in us and has taken ownership of us. He also has become the guarantee to the promises of God.
Now He who ESTABLISHES us with you in Christ and has ANOINTED us is God, who also has SEALED us and established the GUARANTEE with the Spirit in our hearts. —2 Corinthians 1:21-22 MEV
Thank God for the Holy Spirit who brings us assurance with a supernatural peace when we surrender our lives to Jesus and place our full trust in God’s promises! He is faithful to perform His Word in our lives!
