Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.—Romans 8:26
Romans 8 is such a rich chapter of what the Father has done for us in sending the Holy Spirit into our lives. It is certainly one of those chapters you can feed on for weeks. The Holy Spirit has come to our aid to help us fulfill our calling to be more like Jesus. This chapter describes the work of the Holy Spirit within us.
The Spirit within leads and guides us! The Spirit within bears witness with our hearts who we are as sons and what rightfully belongs to us as God’s children and what we can accomplish when we rely on His supernatural assistance. The Holy Spirit also comforts us in a way that keeps our focus on Jesus.
Notice verse 26 makes it clear that we have weaknesses, limitations and inabilities to accomplish God’s will but the Holy Spirit is within us ready to help us if we yield to the spirit of prayer. Many don’t have well timed help and get stuck in life because they simply don’t pray. Remember the tremendous advantage you have when you pray! Give the Holy Spirit opportunity to move in your life! Simply pray, “Holy Spirit, I give you permission to move in my life.” And He will!
